Crawley and Gatwick to the cruise terminal
Use the ship name, sailing date and actual terminal as the destination. Southampton and Dover are ports, not single interchangeable entrances: the correct terminal instructions should come from your cruise line. A group leaving a Crawley address also needs every collection point included, while an airport arrival should specify Gatwick North or South Terminal.
Check Southampton's cruise schedule and terminal information and the Port of Dover cruise guidance alongside your cruise line's instructions. If the line changes the terminal or boarding arrangements, tell us before travelling. A quote for the original destination should not be assumed to cover an unreported change.
Plan around embarkation, not sailing time
Your cruise line's boarding appointment and final check-in deadline determine when you need to be at the terminal. Work backwards from those instructions and allow generous margins for road delays, luggage unloading and the group reaching the check-in area. A ship's advertised departure time is not a safe target for arriving at the port.
These indicative driving ranges use the same Google Routes service as our booking system, with traffic-aware estimates for Tuesday 27 October 2026 at 10:00 GMT. Southampton Cruise Terminal and Dover Cruise Terminal are representative destinations; confirm your specific berth or terminal before fixing a collection time.
| Starting point | Southampton cruise terminal | Dover cruise terminal |
|---|---|---|
| Crawley station | about 1 hour 50–55 minutes | about 1 hour 30–35 minutes |
| Gatwick North Terminal | about 1 hour 50–55 minutes | about 1 hour 20–25 minutes |
| Gatwick South Terminal | about 1 hour 50–55 minutes | about 1 hour 20–25 minutes |
These are rounded route estimates, not arrival guarantees. Allow generous margins, especially when connecting directly from a flight: landing, border checks and baggage reclaim are separate from the road journey. If the available connection is tight, discuss it before booking rather than treating the driving estimate as the whole transfer time.
Cases and equipment
Give us the number of large cases, not just the number of passengers. Mention extra bags, mobility aids and anything that cannot be treated as a standard suitcase. Cruise luggage can change the suitable vehicle arrangement, so confirm storage alongside passenger allocation before accepting a quote.
For 1–8 passengers, instant group pricing uses one MPV; for 9–16, it uses two MPVs travelling together under one booking. The two-vehicle plan includes room for luggage, with the actual load checked against your details. If the group prefers one minibus or requires a coach, we source a licensed operating partner and provide an individual quote.
Return collections after your cruise
Tell us the return date, port, ship and expected disembarkation arrangements. The ship arriving at its berth does not mean every passenger is immediately ready at the pickup point. Choose a collection time using the cruise line's guidance and update us if the return itinerary changes.
Include the final destination for each vehicle and a contact number available after disembarkation. If the group is returning to Gatwick for a flight, specify that terminal and flight timing too. Flight-based waiting allowances should not be assumed to apply to a cruise collection; check the conditions in the written booking arrangements.
Accessibility and a comfortable group plan
Wheelchair accessible vehicles can be arranged for cruise transfers. Describe the equipment, whether the passenger remains in the wheelchair and the help required at the addresses. Port and ship assistance are separate arrangements to make with the cruise line; we plan the road transport around the information you provide.
Send the outward and return itinerary
One enquiry can include both legs, case numbers, the terminal and your preferred vehicle mix. Groups of 17–32 receive a callback, while larger parties and coach journeys are quoted individually. National Transfer manages the booking from Crawley, with the operating partner identified in the quote where a PSV-operated vehicle is required.
Minibus and coach journeys are arranged through licensed partners. For vehicles with 9 or more passenger seats, the journey is operated by a partner holding a PSV operator's licence, and we confirm the operator's name and licence number in writing on your quote.
